AR-15 SideKick

I went with the custom Sidekick model after already having incredible experiences with CoolFire systems for both my Glock 19 and Glock 43X, and once again, CoolFire has completely blown me away. The Sidekick delivers exactly what I was hoping for—excellent build quality, smooth function, and that same realistic training experience that makes CoolFire stand out from every other dry-fire tool on the market.

What really sets them apart, though, is their unmatched customer service (Sandy and Boone are awesome). Every time I’ve reached out—whether it was a question about compatibility, setup, or custom options—they responded quickly, professionally, and with genuine enthusiasm for helping their customers get the most out of their products. It’s rare these days to find a company that not only makes top‑tier gear but also treats its customers like part of the family.

CoolFire has earned my trust over and over again, and the Sidekick is just further proof of why I keep coming back. If you’re on the fence, don’t be—this system is worth every penny.

I was very excited when the system was released and i ordered immediately. It is a very well machined piece of kit.
Unfortunately the system doesn’t fit my short upper because of its geometry.
As soon as they release a more universal co2 tank i will request to change it for my unused one.
Customer support is very kind and quick and im sure we will find a solution.

After using the pistol version of the Coolfire Trainer, I had high expectations for the Sidekick, so I got one and am very happy with it. Coolfire customer support told me that the "Custom" version should work with both Mil Spec and modern ARs, so I got that version. At this point, all I can say is that is works perfectly on my classic Colt AR. I have a Wolfpack Armory AR arriving in a few weeks, and I look forward to trying it out on that when it gets here.

I did not see any way to "zero" the laser on the Sidekick. My shots were hitting just a little bit to the left. After pondering the situation for a bit, I came up with a solution by 3D printing a set of very thin precision spacers. You can check it out on Makerworld by searching for "coolfire".

Cool concept, but it needs work. I bought the “custom AR” configuration and it still won’t clear many hand guard types, such as DD MK18 RIS II. It also interferes with a lot of popular optics like eotech and because of it, won’t fit/work if you have a low mounted optic.

Absolutely love this system. Ive got it for my glock and AR. And im spreading the word.
