The CoolFire Trainer AR-15 'SideKick' allows you to dry fire with a level of safety and realism that cannot be compared to. Similar to our handgun dry-fire systems, the SideKick gets its recoil from our patented CO2-powered mechanism that cycles the slide, providing the semi-realism of live fire, but without the cost of ammunition. Wow!! This AR15 Sidekick is pretty damn cool!!
I am thinking this is the closest you will get to a realistic recoil feedback in dry fire/laser training. Is it exactly like shoot live ammo? No. They is no muzzle flash, no amazing smell and the kick isnt 100% what you get from live ammo. But I think this thing is as close as you will get with a cord/hose less set up. I think this is a definite game changer in training. I am getting over 30 shots before needing a co2 refill (which takes roughly 20 seconds) . Laser fires every time. I have sent video to a bunch of my friends recommending it.

This thing is awesome! Granted, if you are into projectiles you could kit out an AR15 style airsoft or paintball gun for maybe the same amount of cash. However, if what you are after is effective dry-fire training with YOUR rifle, then THIS IS the tool for you. I will add to be careful docking and un-docking the CO2 vessel as I already wrecked the small, translucent O-ring seal. Thankfully an extra is included. I might need more though! Also, potential users should know the action is not exactly quiet, registering in a range of 85-95 decibels in my casual testing.

I've spent less than an hour with this thing so far, but I can tell you this is the best dry fire tool for ARs that I've ever seen! If you have experience with other Coolfire trainers, you'll feel right at home with the Sidekick.
